Distance from the South Downs Way: One mile

South Harting is only around a mile from the South Downs Way, although there’s a steep climb through the woods back to the path.

South Harting is situated just off the South Downs Way, 27 miles from Winchester and four miles from the market town of Petersfield. It’s an idyllic downland village, well worth a visit for a lunch or overnight stop. The very distinctive steeple of the village church is clearly visible from Harting Down and the view invites you down from the South Downs Way into the village.
